Harry H. Lutz was elected to Town Council in 2015 and started his term in January 2016. Lutz has lived in Bluffton since 2010 and said protecting the town’s high quality of life was his motivation to campaign for public office.
“I moved here for a better lifestyle and want to be a voice to help protect this lifestyle as Bluffton continues to experience expansive growth,” Lutz said. “There are numerous issues which affect our community’s quality of life such as natural resource protection, the continuation of sewer installation, economic development and short and long term planning. These issues all contribute and affect the overall experience of living, working and enjoying our community and I want to have input into these issues.”
A Hampton Hall resident, Lutz is a managing partner in Harbor Light Insurance and Wealth Advisors. Since the business’ inception to 2016, its offices were located at the front of Lutz’s neighborhood. In 2016, Harbor Light Insurance moved to Belfair Towne Village.
Lutz spent the majority of his life in coastal New Jersey, an area which has faced similar issues as Bluffton. For the bulk of his career, Lutz operated a family-owned recreational vehicle dealership in New Jersey. As higher gas prices affected the industry, Lutz became a trade show manager for boat and recreational vehicle shows in the Northeast and Chicago, usually managing about ten shows each year.
Lutz graduated from Monmouth University in New Jersey with a degree in elementary education.
He has been married to his wife, Kathleen, since 1969 and has four children (three daughters and one son) and nine grandchildren.
