Captain Joe Babkiewicz is the Operations Commander and oversees both the Criminal Investigations (CID) and Patrol Divisions. 

The Criminal Investigations Division is supervised by Lt. Kelly McCauley. All the Detectives assigned to this division are highly proficient in the application of crime scene and forensic service practices, interview and interrogation techniques, and the use of a variety of resources of conduct through investigations. These detectives are tasked with performing proactive law enforcement activities and conducting investigations into a variety of crimes including violent crimes, property crimes, financial crimes, and crimes against children. In addition, the CID includes the Narcotics Unit and Victim’s Advocate

The Narcotics Unit focuses on drug activity in the Bluffton jurisdiction. The men and woman assigned to Narcotics are trained specifically on the areas of Bluffton where drug activity is more likely to occur and where it has occurred in the past. 

The Victims Advocate provides services such as, guidance and case status to victims or victims’ families, emotion support, assistance in filing a protective order, and accompany victims to court.
